It has emerged this week that the oil previously spread across the Gulf of Mexico has completely disappeared. The official line is that clean-up operations combined with natural forces have de-oiled the area, but many are wondering whether there ever actually was an oil spill, or whether it was all fake, like the Thai tsunami or the moon landing.

This new theory states that the US Government fabricated the oil leak to distract the world media whilst they deployed a Nuke over Afghanistan, which has also vanished mysteriously. Those that came out with this theory have released images that clearly show government officials doctoring images of the ocean to include large areas of oil, and some footage of President Obama filmed in secret that shows him loudly bragging about how he faked the oil leak. Weak as this evidence is, the conspiracy theorists insist that it is true, they can tell from the pixel artefacts washing up on the coast.
Opponents of the theory have been swift and clear in their defence, with one expert earlier stating:
"Those images showing the images being doctored could easily have been doctored by image doctorers, and Obama could have been talking about any old oil leak. This theory is insane."
Despite the flakiness of the theory, Obama himself has released a statement denying all accusations. He said:
"This theory is obviously completely untrue. We, the American Government, have not enforced a single major cover-up since John Lennon shot JFK. As for the footage that elledgedly shows me saying that the oil spill was a fake, I ask anyone who has seen it to forget that they ever saw it, and anyone who has heard of its existence to forget they ever heard of it. Good, now that that's done, what footage? I don't know what footage you're talking about."
Whilst it is a fun idea, it is apparent that this whole theory is just that; an idea. I mean, c'mon, Obama said so.
